Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks and trailers, including electrical, mechanical, air, and hydraulic systems.
- Evaluate equipment for safety issues and take corrective action as needed.
- Learn and utilize Emdecs Kona fleet management software to track and manage maintenance and repairs.
- Provide detailed reports of work performed and repairs made to equipment.
- Use tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet the needs of the shop and the company.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience as a mechanic, preferably in the transportation industry.
- Basic knowledge and skill set in diesel and trailer mechanics.
- Ability to communicate effectively with training materials and team members.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as maintenance instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
The Fleet Mechanic will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential. The Fleet Mechanic may be required to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
