Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist Assistant

Join our team at Wilson Elementary #7 as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant. As a key member of our special education team, you will provide direct support to our Speech Language Pathologists in delivering high-quality speech and language services to our students.

Responsibilities:
  • Attend and participate in Child Study Team meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration with our special education team.
  • Complete all required paperwork and documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide individual and group speech-language services to students as outlined in their IEPs and 504 plans.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of our instructional equipment and materials, as well as office machines and software.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly progress reports on each assigned student, highlighting their strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with our special education team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of services.
  • Participate in district training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of an Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
  • Current licensure from the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS).
  • A valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • A valid state driver's license (may be required).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Understanding of record maintenance and retention policies and procedures.
  • General office policies, procedures, and equipment.
  • Child development and learning principles.
  • Behavior management techniques.
  • Process for developing and implementing IEPs.
  • Skilled in organizing work and setting priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of language development progression.
  • Developing and implementing IEPs.
  • Adapting learning environments and curriculum to meet special needs.
  • Preparing clear and concise reports.
  • Maintaining accurate records and technical documents.
  • Interacting professionally with district staff, students, and outside agencies.
  • Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Operating a computer and related software.
  • Capable of performing general clerical duties.
  • Ability to work with students with communication disorders on a one-to-one or small group basis.
  • Ability to work with bilingual students (preferred).
