Job Summary:
As a Telemetry Monitor Technician at Hendricks Regional Health, you will play a vital role in monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms, ensuring the highest level of patient care. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Fiscal Responsibility:
a. Utilize resources efficiently to minimize waste and optimize patient care
b. Complete tasks in a timely manner, adhering to staffing guidelines and call-in procedures
c. Demonstrate productivity and flexibility in accepting EDO and float assignments
d. Maintain telemetry equipment and troubleshoot monitoring systems

  • Quality:
a. Participate in unit-specific standards and remain up-to-date with policy changes
b. Possess problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask within your scope of practice
c. Offer suggestions to improve unit flow and enhance patient experience
d. Accept delegation of tasks and engage in teamwork

  • Patient Satisfaction:
a. Promote patient satisfaction through timely responses to patient needs and excellent guest relations
b. Practice professional use of personal electronic devices in patient care areas
c. Maintain a professional environment and minimize noise levels
d. Exemplify excellent communication skills with patients, family members, visitors, physicians, and associates

  • Patient Safety:
a. Effectively communicate with patient units and recognize telemetry changes and life-threatening dysrhythmias
b. Utilize the event management system for unusual occurrences
c. Adjust care routines to meet individual patient needs
d. Adhere to HIPAA and social media policies

  • Professional Growth:
a. Share knowledge and skills with colleagues and participate in orientation and cross-training
b. Demonstrate leadership and be a resource for peers, serving as a preceptor or super user
c. Identify professional needs and collaborate with management for learning opportunities
d. Participate in development and implementation of departmental goals

a. Prepare equipment timely and contribute to a professional and quiet patient environment
b. Demonstrate proper phone etiquette and promote commitment to coworkers

Education and Experience Required:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Successful completion of the Basic EKG course competency subsequent to hire
