Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Cardiovascular Unit at University of Oklahoma Medical Center. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.
  • Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments.
  • Assist physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.
  • Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe the physiological manifestations of patients and intervene when necessary.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and initiate, regulate and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
  • Deliver patient care competently and interact with family and patient in sharing care plan while in the hospital and at time of discharge.
  • Inform patient and family of hospital procedures and make referral regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
  • Delegate tasks to support staff and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program preferred.
  • Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC). Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (American Heart Association) within 6 months of hire.
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures. Ability to organize, plan, coordinate and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
