About the Direct Support Professional Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team at Friendship Community Care. This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to providing exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities.

The salary for this role is approximately $12.45 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Job Description

This is a safety-sensitive function that involves working in a home and community setting, assisting clients with basic living skills and daily personal tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation. The successful candidate will also provide transportation to and from activities and appointments, maintain accurate documentation of client progress, and adhere to all relevant laws and regulations.

In addition to these responsibilities, the Direct Support Professional will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized plans of care, ensuring that each client receives high-quality services that meet their unique needs and goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist clients with daily living tasks, including personal care and hygiene
  • Provide transportation to and from activities and appointments
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and treatment plans
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized plans of care
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess a valid driver's license, a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Additionally, they must be able to effectively communicate with clients, families, and other stakeholders, demonstrating empathy, patience, and understanding.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and demonstrate a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support.
