ROLE OVERVIEW

Balcones Recycling is on the lookout for a Senior Accountant to manage the effective and precise execution of all general accounting activities. This position is vital in ensuring timely and accurate monthly financial closures, adhering to internal controls and procedures, and protecting the company's assets while conforming to generally accepted accounting principles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Examine financial reports to pinpoint inconsistencies and guarantee adherence to GAAP and company accounting standards.
  • Execute monthly financial statement closing tasks in line with the closing timetable, which includes journal entry preparation/review, account analysis, and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Oversee daily treasury operations such as initiating wires/ACH transactions, banking file submissions, and Positive Pay approvals.
  • Assist in preparing for annual audits and regulatory reporting.
  • Conduct regular account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger integrity.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting processes from acquisition through depreciation.
  • Contribute to the improvement of accounting systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide support and mentorship to junior staff as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Strong analytical and organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with SAI scale software and Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.
  • Experience in managing Fixed Assets.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage high-level tasks and multiple projects under tight deadlines.
