Position Summary

The Yard Operations Associate is responsible for picking orders, processing returns, counting inventory, and loading/unloading equipment. The role requires frequent operation of forklifts and involves servicing rental equipment, including cleaning and performing minor repairs to maintain quality standards. Comprehensive training will be provided to ensure safety and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently load and unload materials and equipment from trucks, primarily using forklifts.
  • Report any safety concerns or yard issues to the Yard lead.
  • Assemble and maintain trench safety equipment.
  • Assist equipment operators in safely assembling trench safety tools.
  • Perform maintenance tasks such as lubricating and cleaning machinery.
  • Utilize hand and power tools as necessary.
  • Manage traffic flow in and around the yard.
  • Touch up and repaint equipment to align with branding standards.
  • Address customer inquiries and provide assistance as needed.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the yard.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Strong verbal communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Mechanical aptitude is essential.
  • Willingness to work weekends and overtime when necessary.
  • Basic inventory management and computer skills.
  • High emotional intelligence and organizational skills.
  • Capability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  1. 1-2 years of experience in yard, warehouse, or similar environments.
  2. Forklift operation experience is preferred.
  3. Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required.
  4. Valid driving record for operating company vehicles and passing drug screening tests.
