Police Sergeant

The George Washington University Police Department is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Police Sergeant to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to our officers, ensuring the safety and security of our campus community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of police officers in providing security services to the university community.
- Develop and implement effective security strategies to prevent and respond to incidents.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, and staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and training to officers.
- Stay up-to-date with changing laws and regulations, and ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience as a police officer, with at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus relevant training and certifications.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver's license and eligibility to drive university vehicles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a university or similar environment.
- Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
