About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Grocery/Bulk Assistant to join our team at Natural Grocers. As a key member of our Grocery/Bulk department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful operation and profitability of our store.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive shopping experience for our customers.
  • Assist the Grocery/Bulk Manager in ordering, inventory management, and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
  • Support the Grocery/Bulk Manager in managing margin, COGs, and overall department profitability.
  • Ensure all in-stock products meet company standards and maintain a clean and organized store environment.
  • Offer and follow up on special orders, and assist with merchandising shelves, endcaps, and dynamic displays.
  • Assist in training and monitoring of department personnel, and conduct active and passive demos.
  • Support store opening and closing activities, including Daily Sales Report (DSR) and cash handling.
  • Maintain the safety and security of customers and employees, and answer customer questions per company standards.
  • Continually increase product knowledge and utilize SAP and inventory management software as needed.
Requirements
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in grocery or retail environment preferred; natural foods background is a plus.
  • Ability to pass food safety training courses and/or certifications as required by law and maintain compliance.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and stay focused with the task at hand.
  • Possess excellent customer service skills, and be highly organized with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to take direction and follow through, and be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
