We are seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Plant Operator to join our team at American Water. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our water treatment facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain water treatment equipment, including pumps, engines, and chemical dosing systems.
- Perform field tests to monitor water quality and adjust chemical dosages as needed.
- Collect and analyze water samples to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Respond to emergencies and take corrective action to prevent equipment failures and water quality issues.
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve operational goals and objectives.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; five years of experience in water treatment operations preferred.
- Valid Kentucky Class IV-A Water Treatment Operators License required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
