Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Group Exercise Instructor to join our team at the YMCA of Metro Atlanta. As a Group Exercise Instructor, you will be responsible for leading high-energy group fitness classes on land and water, promoting a fun and engaging environment for our members. Responsibilities
  • Lead group fitness classes on land and water, creating a safe and enjoyable environment for participants
  • Develop and implement engaging class formats, incorporating music and choreography to promote physical activity and fun
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to member needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner
  • Collaborate with other fitness professionals to develop and implement new class formats and programs
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest fitness trends and best practices, incorporating new ideas and techniques into your classes
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in exercise science or related field preferred
  • At least 18 years of age; must be able to pass a background check and provide proof of eligibility to work in the US
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in group fitness instruction or a related field; certification in group exercise instruction (e.g. ACE, AFAA) required
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends; must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with diverse populations
