Pharmacy Technician Role

As a pharmacy technician at Friends Hospital, you will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to assist in various pharmacy activities. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; procuring drugs; running the billing; and auditing patient records. You will need to be able to lift up to 20 pounds, be on your feet for extended periods of time, and walk to deliver medications several times daily within the hospital campus.

Work Schedule

This per diem position can work up to 19 hours per week, providing coverage as needed or at least 4 hours per month. The schedule will primarily cover weekend shifts and evening shifts, including alternating Saturdays and Sundays from 8 am to 2 pm, as well as Friday afternoons till 7 pm.

With 192 beds, Friends is the Delaware Valley's largest provider of inpatient behavioral health services, providing individualized programs for adolescents, adults, older adults, and eating disorders.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year of experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy
  • PALicensure/Registration/Certification requirements
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office
  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written
