Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Underwriting Processor to join our team at Trustco Bank. As an Underwriting Processor, you will play a critical role in managing the underwriting portions of the residential lending process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and ensure all loan documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze the financial condition of borrowers, reviewing financial statements, credit reports, and other supporting documentation.
  • Review property appraisals to ensure they meet the bank's policies, guidelines, and practices.
  • Maintain and ensure adherence to all state and federal regulations affecting the underwriting and issuance of credit to borrowers.
  • Work well with loan originators and customers to provide excellent customer service.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent education or experience.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well-organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work to time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to work well independently and in groups.
Preferred Qualifications
  • An Associate's degree, or higher, in a business-related field.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, including Excel and Word.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with office hours Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, and some Saturdays. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel using personal vehicle, occasional overnight travel. Valid driver's license required.

Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information, including company policies and procedures.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers.
