Credentialing Specialist Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Credentialing Specialist to join our team at Texas Health Resources. As a Credentialing Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of medical staff applications, privileges, and authorizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify information on applications
  • Prepare and send applications
  • Review applications for accuracy and completion
  • Input information into MSOW
  • Make copies of privileges and authorizations
  • Send letters to members regarding items still needed
  • Query national databases and review responses to confirm exact matches to applications

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Two years of clerical or administrative experience required
  • Healthcare, credentialing, and/or medical staff experience preferred
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) certification preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, knowledge of medical staff procedures, and strong computer skills
