Job Summary

Loras College is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Security Officer to join our team. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our campus community and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol campus grounds, including residence halls, parking lots, and buildings, to ensure a secure and safe environment.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents, including suspicious activity and unauthorized access to facilities.
  • Conduct regular checks of security equipment and devices to ensure proper functioning.
  • Issue traffic and parking citations as necessary.
  • Provide assistance to students, faculty, and staff in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two to four years of related experience preferred.
  • Certification in CPR and AED required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to pass a police records check.
  • Skilled in the use of personal computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of security equipment and devices.
  • Understanding of related legal requirements.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
Working Environment

The Security Officer will work in a fast-paced environment, often under adverse weather conditions. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
