Job Title: Water Treatment Plant Operator Lead

Bering Straits Native Corporation (BSNC) is seeking a qualified Water Treatment Plant Operator Lead to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Water Treatment Plant Operator Lead will be responsible for leading, maintaining, and operating the Main Water Treatment Plant located on the 29 Palms MCAGCC Base. The successful candidate will have a strong background in water treatment operations and maintenance, with experience in leading and supervising teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and operate the Water Treatment Plant at 29 Palms MCAGCC
  • Support the operations and maintenance of the Water Treatment Plant Production Facility
  • Support the operations and maintenance of the 29 Palms MCAGCC drinking water system
  • Perform routine and non-routine inspections of the entire water treatment facility
  • Collect and run routine bench top analysis of various water treatment samples
  • Collect, document, and report operating conditions of specific water treatment equipment and systems
  • Record routine and non-routine activities during scheduled shifts
  • Perform housekeeping assignments as required for the water treatment facility
  • Maintain Chemical stock, storage, and ordering
Qualifications:
  • T2 California Department of Environmental Quality Water Treatment Certification
  • Experience with operating and maintaining conventional pretreatment water systems
  • Experience with reverse osmosis systems
  • Valid California Drivers License
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of SCADA control systems from a user standpoint
  • Higher Level Certification (T3)
  • Water Treatment Plant Experience
  • Lead/Supervise Water Treatment Plant operations
Work Environment:

The job is performed in an office and field setting. During work in the field setting, the candidate will be exposed to an environment typical of the southwest desert. The candidate may also at times be required to work around chemicals typical of a water treatment facility.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • WTP Shift lead responsibilities
Additional Qualifying Factors:

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
