The Information Intelligence teams are pioneering technologies in algorithmic search, machine learning, natural language processing, and artificial intelligence.

The functionalities we develop are transforming how millions of individuals utilize their devices to search and discover information.

Our universal search engine drives search capabilities across various Apple products, including Siri, Spotlight, Safari, Messages, and Lookup.


As a member of this team, you will engage with one of the most exhilarating high-performance computing environments, managing vast amounts of data, processing millions of queries per second, and having the chance to envision and create products that delight our customers daily.

Role Responsibilities:
We design and construct services and infrastructure that empower billions of Apple users.

Our team employs cutting-edge machine learning methodologies to enhance search relevance, ranking, query comprehension, and question-answering systems.

We architect and implement dependable production services and APIs capable of managing millions of queries per second, crafting a search experience that captivates our customers.

The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguous situations, designs large-scale systems, produces high-quality code, and contributes effectively to both legacy and modern systems.

Exceptional communication skills are essential for coordinating efforts across multiple teams.Key Qualifications:
Proficient coding abilities and a robust understanding of algorithms and data structures. Over 15 years of advanced knowledge and experience in one or more programming languages such as Go, Python, Java, or C++. Strong interpersonal skills, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively. Solid grasp of the software development lifecycle, including unit testing and release management.
Strong software architecture and design capabilities.
Education & Experience:
MS, Ph.D. in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.Additional Requirements:
Experience with Large Scale Distributed Systems is advantageous.
Familiarity with Machine Learning and/or Natural Language Processing is beneficial.

Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base pay is one component of our comprehensive compensation package and is determined within a range. This allows for growth as you advance within your role.

The base pay range for this position is between $166,600 and $296,300, and your specific base pay will be influenced by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Employees may be eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if they voluntarily participate in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
