Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Paralegal to join our team at Beacon Hill. As a key member of our litigation support team, you will be responsible for implementing and managing commercial litigation case and knowledge management systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Case Management: Implement all elements of evolving commercial litigation case and knowledge management systems, including file management, case calendaring, task lists, and commercial litigation-related deadlines.
  • Client Communication: Meet and confer with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss cases, projects, and ongoing client development initiatives.
  • Document Preparation: Draft legal documents, including routine retention and fee applications, draft orders, prepare exhibits, and file motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures.
  • Research and Analysis: Research and analyze case management procedures, local court rules, and statutes for compliance.
  • Case Review: Review and monitor case dockets to identify, summarize, and circulate relevant pleadings and applications.
  • Hearing Preparation: Manage hearing preparation and support, including scheduling of telephonic appearances and preparation of hearing binders.
  • Case Information Management: Prepare, organize, store, and retrieve case information, which may include depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items.
  • Trial Support: Assist attorneys with hearing and trial preparation and participate in trials.
  • Time Management: Develop and maintain time records regarding billable hours spent on specific cases.
  • Team Collaboration: Actively participate in weekly team meetings.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Education: College Degree or Paralegal Certificate, preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong knowledge of electronic filing through Federal and State courts, including Florida court, familiarity with fundamental commercial litigation concepts and court pleadings, excellent interpersonal and client service skills, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.
  • Software: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
