**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Senior Star. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional food quality and service to our residents and guests.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Manage kitchen operations during scheduled shifts, ensuring daily decision-making, staff support, resident interaction, scheduling, menu planning, and product quality and cleanliness.
* Prepare schedules and ensure that areas of responsibility are staffed properly for all shifts.
* Staff, train, and develop hourly associates through ongoing feedback and coaching, the establishment of performance expectations, and regular performance reviews.
* Ensure all newly hired associates follow and complete their appropriate training plan.
* Visit with residents to ensure they receive proper service and follow up on any issues and complaints they may have.
* Proactively run shifts and anticipate resident needs.
* Ensure that the kitchen and service staff are set up for the shift.
* Observe kitchen operations and address any issues out of alignment promptly and directly.
* Manage inventory efficiently, accurately, and in a cost-effective manner.
* Ensure food quality by maintaining high levels of cleanliness, organization, storage, and sanitation of food products.
* Coach and develop other cooks and service staff.
* Demonstrate responsibility for purchasing, receiving, and storing food products.
**Requirements**
* Minimum of 2 years of experience as a kitchen manager with knowledge of operations preferred.
* Prior experience in purchasing and production.
* Previous kitchen experience preferred.
* Ability to walk and stand during entire shift.
* Frequent bending and stooping required.
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
