The Head of Infrastructure Operations will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with the CTO to evaluate current and future infrastructure, cloud operations, and developer productivity requirements, formulating a comprehensive strategy and long-term roadmap focused on automation and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Work alongside the CTO and engineering leadership to devise strategies for adopting new technologies, conducting upgrades, and performing technical design assessments.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality outcomes that align with the long-term infrastructure strategy and support the product development team and the wider organization.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of observability, monitoring, and alerting systems that meet industry standards, facilitating quicker detection and resolution of issues.
  • Collaborate with the Security and Compliance team to identify, track, and resolve cloud security vulnerabilities and compliance issues.
  • Lead, motivate, and nurture team members to foster a high-performing environment.
Your Impact:
  • Establish and lead a modern, high-impact infrastructure engineering team focused on self-service tooling and site reliability engineering practices.
  • Design and manage an efficient, skilled, and responsive organization.
  • Promote a culture of cost efficiency and waste reduction across the organization.
Qualifications:
  • Over 10 years of progressive experience in software technologies.
  • At least 5 years of direct experience in leading and managing infrastructure or DevOps teams.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing a production environment.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with project and application development teams, management, and clients.
  • Strong technical understanding of cloud management concepts, principles, and industry best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Experience in developing and managing on-call rotations, incident management, and postmortem practices.
  • Proficient in crafting and managing policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to cultivate robust customer relationships across various organizational levels.
  • Willingness to travel periodically for team collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in owning and scaling cloud infrastructure, developer productivity tools, CI/CD processes, and site reliability engineering practices to create a self-service infrastructure.
Work Environment:
  • This role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA, with a flexible remote work arrangement.
  • Team members are encouraged to engage in face-to-face collaboration at the Oakland office periodically.
