Palliative Care Physician Opportunity

ECU Health Physicians and ECU Health Palliative Care are seeking a fellowship-trained Palliative Care physician to join their established Hospice and Palliative Care program. The successful candidate will provide compassionate end-of-life care to patients and families at ECU Health Medical Center.
Key Highlights:- Employment by ECU Health Physicians
- Hospital privileges at ECU Health Medical Center, a 974-bed academic medical center
- Opportunity available due to program expansion
- Established palliative care team inclusive of 2 physicians and 6 advanced practice providers
- Provide consults in both inpatient and outpatient settings in person and via a telemedicine service
- 16-bed Palliative Care Unit
- Schedule includes a 4-day work week (8 am - 6 pm)
- Weekend call 1:4
- Administrative responsibilities will include participation in hospital committees, meetings, and projects that require palliative care expertise
- Interdisciplinary care team approach
- Ability to live only an hour away from the beautiful beaches of the North Carolina coast
- Complete patient admission and discharges
- Perform daily clinical rounds on inpatient units
- Develop and update patient plans of care
- Provide clinical support and consultation for the Advanced Practice Provider team, palliative care unit, and field staff
- Direct/participate in family conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings
- Participate in agency quality improvement and patient/family experience activities
- Teach and supervise fellows, residents, and medical students
- Provide care in the outpatient palliative care clinic

ECU Health Physicians includes an academic practice model (ECU employment) and a community practice model (health system employment). There is shared leadership and shared services to support the overall group and to ensure alignment for clinical care, research, education, and strategy.
