Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the COMSEC Operations Supervisor is to work within Special Access Programs (SAPs) in support of various Department of Defense (DoD) agencies. This role entails providing daily support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct secure equipment and classified keying material inventories, inspections, and other COMSEC-related support functions.
  • Oversee the installation of secure telephone equipment and coordinate the delivery of encryption devices and keying material to IT specialists managing classified networks.
  • Administer a Top Secret inventory and document control program to ensure accountability of COMSEC equipment and materials.
  • Perform inventories in accordance with agency policy and report discrepancies to the government customer.
  • Courier classified information and manage receipts for classified materials.
  • Ensure compliance with Automated Information Systems Security requirements related to COMSEC duties.
  • Verify that proper physical security accreditation has been issued for supported facilities.
  • Train personnel in COMSEC procedures and the operation of related equipment.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and quality assurance for team members.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience (4 years).

Security Clearance:

  • Active DOD TS/SCI Clearance.
  • Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information.
  • Willingness to submit to a Counterintelligence polygraph.

Other Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of COMSEC accountability and procedures for the issuance and receipt of COMSEC equipment and materials.
  • Familiarity with COMSEC requirements and procedures, including acquisition, maintenance, operations, and disposition of COMSEC equipment.
  • Ability to perform moderate lifting (approximately 25-40 pounds) and sedentary work at least 50% of the time.
  • Ability to manage stress with professionalism and maturity.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and leadership skills, with effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Experience with Special Access Programs (SAP) is preferred.
