Job Description

Primary Responsibilities of Breakfast Prep Cooks
  • Follow prep lists created by chefs to efficiently manage tasks
  • Label and stock all cooking ingredients according to established procedures
  • Complete all tasks, in order, on the prep list from the Head Chef or other kitchen manager
  • Wash, chop, and sort ingredients like fruits, vegetables, and meats
  • Measure quantities of seasonings and other cooking ingredients
  • Ensure adherence to relevant nutrition and sanitary regulations and standards
  • Maintain accurate records of ingredient inventory and collaborate with other kitchen staff to order resupply
  • Learn about cooking methods and techniques employed in the kitchen
  • Ensure all food items are properly stored and easily accessible
  • Monitor food and cooling room temperatures
  • Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and sanitized
  • Assist chefs in preparing food and attend to any culinary tasks that arise
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
