The Medical Cardiac Hospitalist unit at Albany Medical Center is a fast-paced environment where skilled nurses provide exceptional patient care.

About the Role

This role is for a Clinical Nurse who will assess, coordinate, and manage the needs of assigned patients throughout their episode of care with a focus on progress toward discharge. You will be responsible for delivering and coordinating patient care provided by the caregiving team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures, and special tests.
  • Evaluates patient needs for and responses to care rendered.
  • Provides primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A graduate degree from an academic nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree).
  • Previous experience as a PCA or other nursing assistance is preferred.
  • Ability to improve job performance through continuing education.
