POSITION:
Senior Property Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Property Accountant will oversee the financial management of multiple commercial and residential properties within a designated area. This role reports to the Assistant Property Controller, who in turn reports to the Property Controller.

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manage the accrual accounting for approximately 6-10 properties in the region, which includes approving purchase coding, recording journal entries, and executing monthly closing procedures.
2. Support management in the budgeting process by collaborating on assumptions, preparing budgets, and entering budget data into the accounting software via journal entries.
3. Provide monthly reports to management, comparing actual financial results against the budget.
4. Conduct annual reconciliations of Common Area Maintenance (CAM) and semi-annual Real Estate Tax (RET) expenses, including follow-up billing to tenants. This position also assists with information required for individual tenant audits.
5. Collaborate closely with the bookkeeping team and management to ensure accurate transaction coding.
6. Participate in special projects as needed.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- A Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
- Experience in Public Accounting is advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Familiarity with Yardi software is preferred.

CRITICAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in prioritizing and efficiently resolving issues.
- Only qualified candidates will be considered.
