Job Summary

We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented students to join our Digital Technology Services (DTS) Internship program for the summer of 2025. This unique opportunity offers hands-on experience in a specific area of DTS, guidance from a mentor who is a leader in healthcare IT, exposure and regular interactions with senior leadership, opportunities to learn about healthcare outside of IT, and educational opportunities related to how to thrive and be successful in the workplace.

Responsibilities
  • Perform analysis to understand user needs and develop solutions to meet those needs.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of IT products to meet user needs.
  • Conduct tests and identify errors within IT products.
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and debugging of IT products.
  • Help with software implementations, including providing training and support for staff who will operate the software.
  • Participate in security monitoring and incident response services to protect HMH's assets, infrastructure, and data.
  • Perform market research to compare and summarize current market options and develop organizational position statements regarding emerging technologies.
  • Consult with vendors, perform research, and evaluate products to assist in the selection and purchase of equipment and installation or upgrade of systems.
  • Contribute to HMH's technical documentation and participate in policy, procedure, and standards development.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Available to work onsite 50% of the time with 50% remote work up to 40 hours/week during the program timeframe.
  • Maintain open communication and a positive working relationship with team members.
  • Maintain professional (business casual) dress and grooming.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Pursuit of a degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, cyber security, advanced mathematics, data science, advanced analytics, clinical informatics, healthcare administration, program management, or similar program.
  • Current GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Satisfactory customer service skills.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills.
  • Minimum of 2 years of college or trade school education.
  • Minimum of 3 months of IT experience or equivalent formal training with a letter of reference from a previous employer or professor.
