Position Summary:

The Service Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing, directing, training, and assessing the daily operations of the service department. This position is essential for ensuring timely and high-quality work while minimizing costs associated with parts and labor. The Service Manager is accountable for the maintenance and repair of all equipment at the branch level, ensuring that quality repairs are executed and addressing equipment failures promptly in the field. As a vital team member, the Service Manager contributes significantly to the overall success of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the workload of all shop and field service personnel.
  • Establish and uphold quality and productivity standards, ensuring compliance with company productivity goals.
  • Ensure service orders are accurately completed by team members, including proper documentation of service orders and part numbers in relevant systems.
  • Conduct quality inspections on serviced items to verify that repairs have been executed correctly.
  • Develop and implement a thorough preventative maintenance schedule for equipment, ensuring adherence to it.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of equipment purchases, repairs, maintenance, servicing, and warranties.
  • Manage inventory levels of parts and supplies to meet daily service demands.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely estimation of maintenance and repair tasks through appropriate tracking systems.
  • Guide and perform diagnostics and repairs both in the shop and in the field.
  • Enforce company Quality/Environmental systems and procedures applicable to the daily activities of all service personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards for all service staff.
  • Uphold The Mersino Way as a guiding principle in all project activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in diesel or truck service repair or a related discipline.
  • Relevant equipment repair certifications are preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in project management and supervisory roles.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Proficient in workflow analysis and management.
