Job Title: Java Software Developer

Omitron is seeking a skilled Java Software Developer to join our team in Aurora, CO. As a mid-level developer, you will play a crucial role in creating the next generation of satellite spaceflight safety systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop software to screen satellite orbits for hazards using Java and object-oriented programming principles.
  • Interface with multiple teammates to develop applications to provide data to a scalable cloud service platform.
  • Review, package, and update software to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with senior scientists, mid-level engineers, and partner organizations to develop skills and build a strong team.
  • Support and plan Agile sprints to break software development tasks into logical and efficient software packages.
  • Work with advanced analysts and system tier support to create procedures in support of ongoing operations.
  • Evaluate incoming scientific data for reasonableness.
  • Be adaptable to changing priorities in an operations environment.
Requirements:
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Active Top Secret / SCI security clearance with a willingness to take a CI Polygraph required.
  • Bachelor's degree with 0-2 years of experience in software engineering or software development with Java.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Oracle Java Certification (or equivalent).
  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (or equivalent).
  • Red Hat Linux experience.
  • Experience with development tools such as Git, Maven, and Jenkins.
  • Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.
  • Windows experience.
  • Strong skill set with Jira.
  • Strong skill set with Confluence.
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification or experience.
  • Experience serving government customers.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this role is $125,000 to $139,000, depending on relevant experience, location, and other factors.
