Job Summary

Prestige Care Parkwood Meadows is seeking a skilled Medication Technician to join our team. As a Medication Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications to residents as directed by physicians and in accordance with state regulations and the nurse practice act.
  • Process physician medication and treatment orders, maintaining accurate records of medication and treatment services provided or omitted.
  • Coordinate with pharmacies for medication orders and refills, ensuring timely delivery of medications to residents.
  • Monitor residents' physical and mental conditions, reporting changes to the Health Services Director, physician, and family members as indicated.
  • Provide direct resident care, promoting dignity, independence, and choice, while observing residents' physical and mental conditions and reporting changes to the Health Services Director, Expressions Director, or Executive Director.
  • Assist with or provide care services as directed by the resident's cooperative service plan, ensuring residents receive the care they need to maintain their quality of life.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, pharmacies, outside services, residents, and families regarding medication and care services, ensuring seamless coordination of care.
  • Participate in training, in-services, and staff meetings, staying up-to-date on the latest best practices and regulations in medication administration and resident care.
Requirements
  • One or more years of personal care experience with older adults preferred or as required by state regulations.
  • State required medication pass certification or other required certification.
  • Successful completion of the medication pass competency.
  • Current CPR certification, First Aid training, and Food Handlers permit as required by state regulations.
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience.
