Job Overview

Sentinel Federal Credit Union is in search of a dynamic and seasoned professional to fulfill the role of Compliance Officer. This pivotal position is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's adherence to regulatory, legal, and policy standards, ensuring that all modifications and updates to laws and regulations impacting operations are effectively addressed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive compliance program and training manual to ensure alignment with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the revision and design of documents, contracts, agreements, and disclosures to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Facilitate communication with governmental and law enforcement entities, providing necessary information related to compliance and risk management issues.
  • Advise Executive Management and the Board of Directors on policy modifications that enhance the organization's risk management framework and protect its assets.
  • Ensure clear communication of any changes in policies and procedures to Executive Management, the Board of Directors, and the broader organization.
  • Monitor the implementation and understanding of new policies and procedures across the organization.

  • Possess strong comprehension skills for complex functions and the ability to convey that knowledge clearly to others.

  • Effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Showcase the ability to train and mentor staff effectively.
  • Exhibit supervisory skills and strategic thinking to enhance compliance efficiency.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, fostering strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to community involvement and volunteerism.
