Compensation Range:

$475,000-$500,000 / Year

Community Description

Merced is a growing city of over 90,000 residents with a 190-bed hospital and a University of CA campus, both of which have attracted a large number of physicians to our community.

The UC is also planning for the development of a medical school.

Merced is located in an ideal setting that offers the best of both worlds:

close proximity to all the amenities of large metropolitan areas and the low cost, low stress environment of a family-oriented Central CA community.

A short two hours drive will get you to San Francisco; the quaint coastal towns of Monterey and Carmel; and Sacramento, the state capital.

We are a short drive to Yosemite with all its grandeur and recreational options. Tahoe is a four hour drive for great summer and winter recreation.

The city boasts its own orchestra and theater company and is host to a variety of festivals throughout the year.

In addition, our growing community offers 18-hole golf courses and more than 12 miles of class-one, grade-separated bike paths.

ResponsibilitiesPatient Care:
  • Diagnose and treat various medical conditions.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Conduct thorough medical examinations and histories.
Communication:
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Provide clear and concise medical information.
  • Foster a collaborative and patient-centered approach to healthcare.
Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Document medical findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
  • Ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations.
Diagnostic Procedures:
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging.
  • Perform procedures as needed.
  • Collaborate with specialists for further diagnostic evaluation.
Team Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
  • Provide consultative services to other healthcare providers.
Quality Improvement:
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
  • Review and analyze clinical outcomes for continuous improvement.
  • Implement changes to enhance patient care and safety.
Compliance:
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice.
  • Stay informed about healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in quality audits to ensure adherence to standards.
Continuous Learning:
  • Stay abreast of medical advancements and best practices.
  • Participate in ongoing medical education and training.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines.
Qualifications
  • A valid and unrestricted California medical license
  • Board eligible or board certified in specified area of medical specialty (ABMS or AOA)
  • Completion of an accredited post-graduate training program
