Job Summary

The Public Area Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operation of the department, ensuring the cleanliness and organization of public areas, and providing exceptional guest service. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign daily cleaning duties to team members and ensure all areas are cleaned and maintained to a high standard.
  • Inspect public areas and team member areas to ensure cleanliness and organization.
  • Inventory and order cleaning supplies as needed.
  • Carry a radio and respond to requests from departments as needed.
  • Perform the duties of a Casino Porter as required.
  • Lead by example and handle any problems that may arise.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the proper use of commercial cleaning chemicals, vacuums, and other equipment.
  • Able to understand MSDS sheets and safety regulations.
  • Keep open lines of communication with Executive Housekeeper, Chief Engineer, and Security management.
  • Assist guests with any questions or requests.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with team members, guests, and vendors.
  • Ability to accept performance feedback in a professional manner.
Supervisory Responsibilities

The Public Area Supervisor oversees the daily tasks of Public Area team members, ensuring all guests receive the best possible experience. This role requires strong communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to respond to guest or team member issues in a positive manner.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum one year of previous supervisory experience in housekeeping or environmental services.
Language Skills

Must be able to effectively communicate in English and Spanish.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Computer Skills

Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of Synergy preferred.
