KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Rail Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Servicing, maintaining, and inspecting rail equipment.
- Performing basic troubleshooting using tools that do not require specialized training.
- Operating wheel machines and replacing rail components on various rail equipment.
- Acting as an Equipment Operator when required by the position.
- Completing additional duties as assigned by supervisors and managers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Previous experience in construction, maintenance, or warehouse work is advantageous but not mandatory.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY:
Candidates must demonstrate:
- The ability to read and comprehend safety instructions, manuals, and directives.
- Effective communication skills with supervisors and team members.
PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS:
Successful candidates will have:
- The ability to follow detailed instructions and complete tasks accurately.
- Skills to solve basic problems and escalate issues to supervisors when necessary.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires:
- The ability to lift and carry heavy objects, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and kneeling.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The role may involve working in various settings, including:
- Construction sites, warehouses, or outdoor locations.
- Moderate to loud noise levels.
- Situational and environmental awareness to ensure safety for oneself and others.
SALARY:
The hourly rate for this position is $27.57.
