Job Summary:
This position, under the direction of a supervisory physician, is responsible for providing high-quality, general medical care and treatment to Great Plains Tribal Leaders Health Board Inc. patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Medical Care: Maintains knowledge and proficiency in medical practices through continuing education and training. Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of Physician.
- Diagnose and Treat: Provides medical care to repair minor wounds and injuries. Administer vaccinations. Collects appropriate sample for medical laboratory testing.
- Order and Interpret Diagnostic Tests: Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs.
- Record and Formulate Plan: Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Discusses case with Physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan.
- Prescribe and Recommend Treatment: Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
- Refer Patients: Refers patients to Physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.
- Document Patient Information: Ensures accurate information is documented within the patient's electronic health record.
- Comply with Regulations: Must comply with federal laws and regulations as required by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA).

Requirements:
- Education and Experience: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program or Certified Nurse Practitioner. One year of clinical experience practicing as a mid-level provider.
- Licensure: Must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
- Certifications: Must obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including any licensure requirements. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required or must be obtained within ninety (90) days of employment. ACLS certification, and PALS certification required.
