Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Memorial Hermann Health System. As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality patient care and safety in our radiology department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform radiography (x-ray) exams on patients, ensuring compliance with all radiation safety procedures, including preparing patients for exams, obtaining and recording vital signs, explaining procedures, administering IV and contrast when necessary, positioning patients for exams, selecting appropriate imaging techniques, and ensuring technical quality of images.
  • Enter and monitor patient data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform quality assurance on radiology equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Assist with initial and renewal applications for accreditation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and report any accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to department management, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing disruptions.
  • Take emergency calls within the department, providing timely and effective support to patients and staff.
  • May administer breath alcohol tests and/or urine drug screens, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • May perform patient registration tasks, including verifying insurance, collecting payments, and ensuring accurate and timely processing of patient information.
  • Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service.
  • Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency, supporting department-based goals that contribute to the success of the organization.
  • Demonstrate commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences, modeling Memorial Hermann's service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized, and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
