Job Overview:

In the role of Accountant, you will operate under the guidance of the Finance Manager, providing essential financial support and customer service to clinical operations and research initiatives. This position requires a high degree of discretion and independent judgment.

Your responsibilities will include conducting financial analysis, offering insights, and preparing reports that meet departmental needs. You will also collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure compliance and effective budget management.


Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:
You will analyze financial data and generate timely reports that enhance the management of operations. Adherence to GAAP standards is crucial to ensure accurate financial reporting that meets both internal and external compliance requirements.

Process Improvement:
You will identify and recommend enhancements to financial practices and systems, working closely with both internal and external partners to achieve departmental goals. Building strong relationships and maintaining effective communication will be vital to your success.

Accounting Duties:
Your role will involve accurately recording transactions in financial records, performing reconciliations, and resolving discrepancies. You will ensure compliance with GAAP and communicate effectively with leadership regarding financial matters.

Strategic Financial Management:
You will translate financial objectives into actionable priorities, report on financial risks, and engage relevant stakeholders in discussions and approvals.

Compliance Oversight:

Establishing and maintaining robust internal controls will be part of your responsibilities, ensuring the effective use of resources and adherence to contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.


Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, along with two years of relevant experience, is required. A solid understanding of financial and accounting principles is essential.


Skills Required:
Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks are critical. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for building partnerships with faculty, staff, and external clients. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required, with a preference for experience in financial software.
