Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Paraeducator to join our Special Education team at Neely-O\u2019Brien Elementary. As a Paraeducator, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs, providing individualized attention, and helping them achieve their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide academic and behavioral support to students with special needs
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning, implementation, and assessment
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers and other support staff
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure a smooth and successful learning experience
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the minimum employment requirements for paraeducators in the State of Washington. This includes:

  • An Associate (AA) degree or higher from an accredited institution
  • 72 college-level credits from an accredited institution
  • A score of 455 or higher on the ETS ParaPro Assessment and proof of high school completion or equivalent

If you do not yet meet one of these qualifications and are willing to take the ParaPro Assessment, you can still apply. If you are the chosen finalist candidate, you will have the opportunity to take the test prior to being formally hired into the role.
