Job Title: Senior Structural Project Manager

Northern Impact is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our structural engineering group, you will be responsible for managing a diverse range of projects, from academic to industrial and transportation.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement structural engineering design solutions for buildings and structures, aligning with project objectives and design criteria.
  • Collaborate with design team members to ensure smooth communication and coordination.
  • Deliver accurate and complete structural designs within project timelines and budget constraints.
  • Assist with task assignments, project management, contract proposals, and contribute to business development efforts.
  • Conduct engineering calculations, prepare technical reports, and ensure the accuracy of structural drawings and details.
  • Perform field-related tasks such as structural condition inspections, site visits, and field inventories.
  • Uphold company quality control standards and safety protocols throughout project execution.
  • Review construction shop drawings and submittals to verify compliance with design specifications.
  • Provide oversight by checking the work of others as assigned and certifying engineering design documents as necessary.
Requirements:
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license in Massachusetts is required, with a preference for a Structural Engineer (SE) license.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil) with an emphasis on Structural Engineering is required. A Master's Degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • 8-10 years of relevant work experience is necessary.
  • Previous experience leading projects for organizations like MBTA or DCAMM in Boston, MA is highly valued.
  • Proficiency in designing structural steel, concrete, wood/timber, and masonry components and framing systems is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in building strong client relationships and managing complex projects is crucial.
  • Proven ability to build and lead successful project teams.
  • Working knowledge of IBC, AISC, and ACI Building Codes is required.
  • Must be well-versed in industry practices, regulations, and current technology applicable to the project.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided structural analysis/design software such as RISA 3D, Tekla, Fastrak, TEDDS, IES Quick Suite, and IES Visual Analysis is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk Revit is beneficial.
