About the Role

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Services Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our facilities operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical and administrative functions of the Environmental Services department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a technical resource for caregivers, providing guidance and support to ensure a clean, safe, and attractive environment.
  • Implement goals consistent with assigned clinical and non-clinical units, ensuring effective use of personnel, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide effective leadership and supervision to team members, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Continuously inspect assigned areas to ensure high-quality cleaning and maintenance is being performed, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain staffing levels, approve and schedule paid time off and leave requests, and ensure cross-coverage to meet operational needs.
  • Coordinate and provide orientation, education, and training to team members, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties effectively.
  • Analyze work flow and procedures, recommending changes to improve speed, quality, and effectiveness of department procedures.
  • Provide recommendations to improve departmental processes and procedures, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • May be assigned to cover shifts in the event of staffing gaps, including vacancies.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree may substitute experience requirement.
  • One year of experience as a work leader, team lead, or project manager, or one year of supervisor experience in a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work in a stressful environment.
Working Conditions

The Environmental Services Supervisor will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. The role will involve regular handling and use of disinfectants and other cleaning agents and chemicals.

The ideal candidate will be able to work in a stationary position for extended periods, operate a computer and other office equipment, and communicate and exchange accurate information. The role will also require regular travel throughout the hospital system.
