Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to assist providers in the administration of patient care in assigned clinical areas. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, diagnostic studies, treatment, and dressing changes.
  • Perform general administrative duties in accordance with JCAHO, CLIA, NCQA, and government standards, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare visit charts for daily scheduled appointments, including diagnostic test results, emergency/urgent care reports, discharge summaries, and consult/PCP reports.
  • Room patients for provider visits, documenting chief complaint, allergies, vital signs, medication list review, tobacco history, LMP, health maintenance overrides, and other relevant information.
  • Obtain and document age and/or condition-specific measurements, including vital signs, height, weight, head circumference, peak flow, and pulse oximetry.
  • Conduct and document hearing, vision, respiratory, and ECG testing, as well as specific screenings based on condition/need.
  • Process specimens using the appropriate collection process and equipment, and perform point-of-care testing accurately.
  • Administer medications and immunizations, including oral, nasal, injectable, rectal, and topical routes as appropriate.
  • Process medication prescription refills per guidelines using telephonic, electronic, or print methods.
  • Manage clinical supplies and medication sample areas to ensure stock is current, stored appropriately, labeled, and par levels are maintained.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
  • One (1) to three (3) years medical assistant experience preferred.
  • Medical Assistant Certification/ABR-OE strongly recommended.
  • Computer/EMR experience preferred.
