Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Professor of Theatre to join our faculty at Broward College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Theatre Production courses at the college level, as well as contributing to the development of our theatre program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Theatre Production courses, including Lighting and Sound, Set Design, and Stagecraft
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the college's mission and goals
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to students
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of the theatre program
  • Maintain a high level of computer literacy and commitment to teaching
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and service to the department and college
Requirements
  • MFA degree in Technical Theatre or a Master's degree with 18 graduate credit hours in a related field
  • Experience teaching Theatre Production at the college level and college main stage production experience preferred
  • 15 credit hour teaching load with technical design of two theatrical presentations per semester
  • Experience teaching Lighting and Sound and/or Set Design and/or Stagecraft at the college level a plus
  • Three years of professional or college-level teaching experience preferred
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position with a varied schedule. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain office hours and may be required to work evenings and/or weekends.
