Laboratory Manager, Biology Lab, UC Blue Ash College Position

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Manager to join the Biology Department. This full-time position will oversee the setup and maintenance of laboratories for various courses, including Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Biology for Allied Health.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in biology and laboratory management, with experience in supervising laboratory staff and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. A bachelor's degree in a biological science or a related field is required, with seven years of relevant work experience or specialized training in lieu of education.
Responsibilities- Manage the activities of the assigned research/instructional support facility and laboratory.
- Supervise or assist lab associates in setting up lab courses.
- Consult with administrators to determine equipment and materials purchase priorities.
- Develop unit procedures, including preparing schedules for laboratory teaching sessions.
- Enforce health and safety practices and procedures related to the operation of the labs.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives and assess staff skills to ensure achievement of established department goals and objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in a biological science or a related field.
- Seven years of relevant work experience or specialized training in lieu of education.
- Three years of experience in an academic or industry laboratory environment in the field of biology and/or chemistry.
- Candidates with a master's, PhD, MD, or other healthcare-related degree.
- Previous supervisory experience in a laboratory setting at the college level.
- Experience in the preparation and maintenance of teaching laboratories.
