This role is responsible for providing exceptional service to patients, visitors, and staff, while ensuring the smooth operation of our front desk and switchboard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greets visitors and callers in a professional and courteous manner, utilizing facility scripting to ensure a positive experience.
  • Answers multi-line phone console switchboard, wearing a headset to efficiently route calls to the appropriate area or department.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date telephone records, adhering to HIPAA guidelines for patient confidentiality.
  • Ensures the front desk and reception area are organized, clean, and free of clutter, creating a welcoming environment for visitors.
  • Communicates effectively with front desk hospital volunteers and Patient Access Representatives to provide excellent customer service.
  • Notifies the engineering department and management of switchboard equipment malfunctions, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Participates in announcing hospital codes and adheres to policy related to calling codes, demonstrating a commitment to patient safety and well-being.
  • Monitors the front hospital lobby, promptly notifying Security and/or management of any security events or potential incidents.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required within 30 days of hire.
  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience, with a proven track record of providing exceptional service.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment, with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
