Customer Service Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Switchboard Operator. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Greet visitors and callers in a friendly and professional manner, utilizing facility scripting to ensure a positive experience.
2. Answer multi-line phone console switchboard, wearing a headset to ensure efficient call handling.
3. Route callers to the appropriate area or department, utilizing your knowledge of hospital operations to ensure seamless communication.
4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date telephone records, adhering to HIPAA guidelines for patient confidentiality.
5. Ensure the front desk and reception area are tidy and organized, reflecting positively on our hospital's image.
6. Collaborate with front desk hospital volunteers and Patient Access Representatives to provide exceptional customer service to visitors.
7. Promptly notify the engineering department and management of any switchboard equipment malfunctions.
8. Participate in announcing hospital codes and adhere to policies related to code announcements.
9. Monitor the front hospital lobby and promptly notify Security and/or management of any security events or potential events.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required within 30 days of hire.
Minimum of 1 year customer service experience required.
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
