Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join our team at the City of Somerville. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial management of the department, including budget preparation, financial analysis, and grant management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and implement annual budgets for the department
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to management
  • Manage grants and contracts, including research and coordination
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and bill processing
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial compliance and accuracy
  • Provide training and support to staff on financial matters
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management, including budgeting and grant management
  • Advanced knowledge of financial principles, laws, and regulations
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
