About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer - HVAC/Plumbing to join our team at GHD. As a key member of our Engineering Design Organization, you will play a critical role in delivering complex engineering projects and providing high-value consultancy services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Guidance and Project Oversight: Provide expertise and guidance on various engineering projects, with a focus on heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, building plumbing systems, energy management systems (EMS), and more.
  • Design Delivery: Oversee and lead the production of complex engineering designs, drawings, details, reports, and specifications.
  • Project Scope and Schedule Management: Assist project managers in developing and managing project scopes, schedules, budgets, and quality documents. Your expertise will contribute to effective project planning and execution.
  • Leadership: Lead and support cohesive project teams, including subconsultants, to achieve project objectives, promoting collaboration and creating a positive work environment.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Play a crucial role in coaching and mentoring junior-level staff, helping develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Community and Professional Engagement: Actively engage in community and professional organizations, representing our company and staying current with industry trends.
  • Client Relationship Management: Actively participate in client relationship management and attend client meetings as needed.
  • Business Development: Support Senior Project Managers with business development on behalf of GHD, positioning for new work and securing projects.
Requirements
  • Experience: 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in consulting on commercial, educational, city, state, and federal facilities.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Licensure: California Mechanical Engineering (ME) license required, or ability to obtain within 6 months. Other state engineering registrations may be considered.
