We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Pharmacy Manager to join our innovative, independent pharmacy in Sacramento. Key Responsibilities:
Support the Pharmacist-In-Charge (PIC) in managing day-to-day operations, including regulatory compliance, staff supervision, and inventory management. Review prescriptions for accuracy and suitability, and provide information on drug interactions, side effects, and proper usage. Oversee compounding and dispensing of medications, ensuring adherence to legal and quality standards. Maintain pharmacy records, including patient profiles, inventories, and controlled substance logs. Develop and implement procedures for the safe mixing, packaging, and labeling of medications. Offer specialized patient services, including management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, asthma, hypertension, and HIV prevention, as well as travel health advice. Conduct point-of-care testing, interpret results, and prescribe treatments under California law and a collaborative practice agreement. Administer immunizations and other therapeutic injections. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to evaluate treatment plans and ensure optimal patient outcomes. Assist in the hiring, training, and management of pharmacy staff, including technicians and interns.
Work Environment:
Our pharmacy operates Monday through Friday, 9 am - 6 pm, and Saturday, 9 am - 1 pm (closed on Sundays). Work schedules will vary between part-time and full-time positions and may include shifts outside of regular business hours for administrative tasks. Requirements:
Doctor of Pharmacy (PhD) degree, Active California Pharmacist License, CPR and Immunization Certification. Ability to sit, stand, and bend for prolonged periods. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
