Director of Catheterization Laboratory Services

As the Director of Catheterization Laboratory Services at University Medical Center of El Paso, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Cath Lab, Neuro Intervention Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, and Interventional Radiology. This includes ensuring patient safety and quality care, collaborating with hospital and medical leadership to maintain the integrity of the service line, and managing departmental budgets and resources.
Key Responsibilities- Direct and coordinate all aspects of the Cath Lab, Neuro Intervention Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, and Interventional Radiology, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation agency requirements.
- Collaborate with Cardiology Medical Director, Neurology Medical Director, Electrophysiology Medical Director, and Interventional Radiologist to develop and implement departmental initiatives and strategies.
- Manage departmental budgets, capital equipment, and staffing plans to ensure cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain relationships with physicians, hospital leadership, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Ensure ongoing education and training for staff to maintain expertise and stay up-to-date with industry developments.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Five years of progressive Nursing Healthcare Supervisory/Management experience with a strong background in Cath Lab, cardiovascular, or critical care.
- Contract development/negotiation, physician contracting, and business plan development experience are preferred.
- Current RN license, CPR certification, and ACLS/PALS certification within six months of hire.
- Nurse Executive Leadership certification or an approved nursing certification in specialty area highly preferred.
A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required, and a Master's degree in Nursing Business, Healthcare Administrative, or related field is preferred.

- Ability to identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities, comparing data from different sources to draw conclusions.
- Extensive knowledge of regulatory and accreditation agency requirements that impact the department.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software.
