JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
Provide engineering and technical leadership for a Power Generation facility and oversee designated areas in the commissioning of the Power Generation site.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Offer guidance and support to plant personnel to ensure compliance-related tasks are executed as outlined in the Power Generation plant modification process.
  • Act as a champion for Causal Analysis/ Lead and assist in the investigation of plant component failures, environmental compliance issues, and operational incidents.
  • Conduct project management and provide technical oversight.
  • Coordinate and implement betterment capital and O&M projects, collaborating with plant production, maintenance, project teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to the plant modification process throughout project execution.
  • Facilitate troubleshooting of equipment maintenance to resolve issues promptly.
  • Oversee engineering activities of external firms, including the development of work scopes, solicitation and evaluation of proposals, project planning and controls, review of deliverables, installation support, and start-up assistance.
  • Assist the plant in meeting HON criteria/ Enhance plant processes, support staff in creating action plans to address gaps, and monitor action plan progress until completion.
  • Support reliability initiatives by serving as the Boiler Tube Failure Reduction (BTFR) team leader.
  • Ensure availability of technical resources to assist in daily operations and maintenance activities.
  • Provide expert consultation related to applicable equipment (e.g., turbine-generator, boiler, auxiliaries, etc.).
  • Interface with equipment OEMs.
  • Deliver engineering support for plant modifications.
  • Responsible for all engineering programs at a Power Generation site, including the initial establishment of engineering programs, site projects, and technical database development.
  • Participate and lead designated areas in the commissioning of the Power Generation site.
  • Revise all technical documents (procedures, drawings, control narratives, etc.) and ensure documentation control is maintained according to site leadership guidance.
  • Participate and facilitate site training sessions as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Education required of the position:
  • B.S. degree in Engineering
Minimum Experience required of the position:
  • Engineer II: at least 2 - 4 years of applicable and progressive experience.
  • Engineer III: at least 4 - 6 years of applicable and progressive experience.
  • Engineer Sr: at least 6 years of applicable and progressive experience.
  • Desired:
    • Experience in Power Plants.
    • Familiarity and proficiency with NERC requirements and processes; the incumbent will serve as the NERC Champion for the plant.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Exhibits sound engineering judgment.
  • Strong engineering analysis and problem-solving skills as required by the specific job.
  • Thorough understanding of procedures, programs, and standards in the responsible area.
  • Desired:
    • Previous commissioning experience.
    • Skilled in project management and engineering technical reviews.
