Claims Specialist

Job Summary:

The Claims Advocate will play a critical role in managing complex workers' compensation claims to achieve the most favorable outcomes. This position requires a deep understanding of workers' compensation laws, statutes, and regulations for the assigned jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage complex workers' compensation claims to produce favorable outcomes through investigation and analysis.
• Collaborate with management, human resources, defense counsel, and third-party interests to utilize as a resource and support system.
• Ensure timely payment of indemnity payments and maintain accurate records.
• Handle multiple jurisdictions and apply workers' compensation laws accordingly.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external parties.
• Make sound decisions and solve problems to assess the validity of claims.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Work effectively under pressure and in stressful situations.
• Utilize computer software and applications to track progress and manage files.

Requirements:

• 5-6 years of experience working with complex, lost time, and litigation workers' compensation files.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Proficient in utilizing computer software and applications.
